About Script Options and Royalties
The Fish-Eyes script is published using a similar model to professional script services such as Samuel French. Producing companies purchase the same number of scripts as there are characters in the play (2 in this case), and then remit royalties for each public performance of the material.Script options
- Souvenir Copy (1 book): This is for those who simply wish to read the play for enjoyment or to decide if they wish to perform it.
- Actor’s Pack (2 books): This meets the requirements of public performance use: one script for each of the two characters in the play.
- Director’s Pack (3 books): This set gives you a savings on the third book, if you’d like your director to have one, too. (not required)
Royalties
Royalties are due regardless of
type of use (profit or non-profit). Special permission must be acquired
for profit ventures such as touring stock, dinner theater, etc. No
special permission is required if a non-profit such as a church is
performing Fish-Eyes as a fund-raiser.
Royalties are:
- $25/performance under one hour*
-
$50/performance over one hour
*(if performing the same material for multiple church services on the same day, only one royalty is due.) -
$150/unlimited, not-for-profit use license for one year (12 months from timeof first use).
One option for this kind of use would be to perform the play serially (i.e. doing one scene each week to tell the whole gospel story)
Payment of Royalties
You can pay royalties
along with your script purchase, or if you prefer you may wait and
