THE CREATION CHRONICLES
God Reaches Out to Us (Genesis to Jonah)
This show starts, literally, at The Beginning. Scene One: God’s office where God busily creates the Earth, flying things, elephants, even puns. Finally, God shows right-hand angel Gabriel an early draft for humans and wonders aloud, “What will they do?”
Through a series of 14 Old Testament stories and 17 different characters, the two actors explore that theme: what humans do, and how God reaches out to them. From the folly of the “Tower of Babel” to the joy of God’s new idea (“Advent”), The Creation Chronicles carries the audience on an amazing journey and gives them a glimpse of God’s eternal love for us.

FISH-EYES
Journeying the Gospels with Peter & Andrew
Based on the Gospels, Fish-Eyes tracks two very memorable, very human followers of Jesus. Peter is a fiery, passionate cynic, while brother Andrew is a witty and childlike optimist. Both men must journey toward an understanding of the miraculous man in their midst.
Fish-Eyes opens with “The Call” and features scenes on the beatitudes, the Last Supper, the wedding at Cana and many more. One scene in particular has become notorious: “The Feeding of the Five Thousand”, in which the brothers go into the audience seeking food. Past shows have yielded everything from nachos to a wooden apple to a beer! The play concludes with a breath-taking post resurrection fishing scene that washes away the despair of passion week with an uplifting twist.

DOVE TALE
How the First Christmas Finally Came Together
Performed late November through December only.
Co-stars Ingrid De Sanctis, formerly a professor of theater at both Clemson University and Eastern Mennonite University (also a co-writer of the script) and Trent Wagler, musician and actor.
How did the first Christmas come about? What were the human struggles needed to deliver God’s gift? DoveTale takes a fresh look at the Christmas story with those details in mind, from Mary’s disbelief of Gabriel’s message (she thinks he’s the plumber at first) to Joseph and Mary’s conflicts over the news to the realities of the trip to Bethlehem (ever ridden a donkey pregnant?)
Along with the three central characters (Mary, Joseph and Gabriel), the actors portray a host of colorful minor characters. A mute checker-playing Zechariah and his chatty wife Elizabeth, salty Irish shepherds, an amateur wedding photographer and a crooning lounge singer add humor to the tale. At play’s end, narrator Gabriel leads the audience in singing a Christmas lullaby to the sleeping newborn to round out this heart-warming production.
Full show length: 75 minutes
